Control Panel Design and Build

Kupper Engineering designed and built several control panels for a water treatment plant in Lancaster County, PA.  This included a wastewater local control panel, as well as two panels at each remote well site (SCADA enclosure and VFD enclosure), a central control panel, and a remote monitoring panel enclosure for the facility’s water tower.

We provided all system integration services, including the design and assembly of the custom protective relay panel for a rooftop solar project consisting of 31,000 solar panels at a Los Angeles mail processing distribution center.  We designed the 3-line interconnections from the meter to the 38kV switchgear, provided panel installation drawings, packaged the panel for shipping to the site, answered RFIs for installation, and performed meter startup during the monitoring system startup.

We provided system integrations services for the H2S control system at a county landfill in Boise, ID to remove H2S from the landfill gas stream. Our services included electrical engineering design services, and coordination and design of communications connections for SCADA system integration. Our team provided all hardware and programming in the PLC panel to operate environmental control devices, such as methane sensor inputs, exhaust fan controls, gas analyzer and related equipment shunt trip controls, and updated sequence of operations. Reducing the H2S helps decrease odors and allows more landfill gas to be drawn for the generation of renewable electricity.
